I signed up the other day and bought Felix and Netbot, but Felix is so much better. It also has built in push notifications, which is nice seeing as how App.net hasn't set up sms notifications like Twitter has.

What is the appeal, how is it different than Twitter? I see it costs five dollars a month, why would we pay for a social app when there are so many free ones, also you'd have to purchase a client app to view them.

It's more developer friendly than Twitter from what I hear. No ads.

I don't know how well this will catch on with the general populace. IMO most people won't leave a free ad-supported network like Twitter for a fee-based one. My guess is it will be more of a specialized or niche feed for developers, etc.
