I can enter online and have it sync to phone. I currently use the native app and use Gmail but it's not exactly what I want.

I know there are lots of calendar apps out there, but was hoping for recommendations from members here.

Wouldn't it be easier to just configure your gmail via the Microsoft Exchange setup on your iPhone and then enable your calendar to be synced to your device automatically?

Exactly! You can import your google calendar to iCloud and simply make it your primary calendar.

It's one of paid app but Easy Calendar is really one of exotic featured iphone application. This one is really useful featured app. As we can easily find the same one from the same source.

Try Calengoo. It syncs with google which can sync with all devices and with outlook with Google Calendar sync. Works perfect for me. I keep several years of past info synced to all me devices with this setup.
