Connecting to and streaming video from my home server

I have a wireless file server set up in my house for movies, TV shows and what not. Is there an app that will let me connect to, stream and download files from my server to my ipad? I've recently found an app called polkast that allows me to access any file on my laptop, I'd not like to do the same on my file server. Anyone have any ideas?

I don't have my video files organized in iTunes though...
