I have been reading up on some rumors that Microsoft will be releasing an office version for the iPad with all the functionality of office 2010, just geared towards the touch interface. Has anyone else heard anything abut this?

There was a mention of it about a month back. Here's one of the articles in regards to it possibly coming to the iPad:

I hope it's sooner than later. I am using my iPad more and more for work and need a real office suite. Quickoffice can't edit PowerPoint 2010 presentations, what the? Pages is ok but hardly a Word replacement. MSFT would make a mint on a true office suite.

In the meantime, I've been using splashtop to stream my work laptop and access full office applications. It works but a native office app for iOS would be awesome.

Try CloudOn. It's not as good as an actual app right on your ipad, but combined with dropbox, works pretty well.

Using CloudOn too, not bad at all, works quite well for now. Very happy for the price!
