Newb Question on downloading same App to iPod Touch & iPhone

Am a new iPhone 4S user - today! - but have a dumb newb question I'm hoping someone can help me with....

Back in December 2011, I bought a copy of the Tweetbot App for my iPod Touch - via the App Store.

Now that I have a new iPhone, I'd like to put Tweetbot on it as well.

Do I have to buy it again - i.e. pay twice?

Or can I download it onto my (other) device (my new iPhone) for free?

If so - what's the process? Do I have to go through the App Store and tell it I want to 'buy' Tweetbot - and then have it process my 'purchase' request - until it somehow 'realizes' that I already bought it? Or.....WHAT?????


Any advice would be GREATLY APPRECIATED|!

On your new device, sign into the same iTunes account as the one you use on the old one. Then just go to the Update tab in your App store app, and tap at the top where it says Purchased Apps. You'll find all your prior purchases there, and you can just tap to download.
