Help with calendar app

I'm either not searching correctly or just being an idiot so I apologize for the following question if it's an obvious answer. How does one get a badge icon to show on the calendar app's icon showing your events or tasks for that day? I have it set to banner under alert style and Badge App Icon is set to on under Notifications in the settings app. Any help would be appreciated.

Even though there is a Show Badge Icon option for the calendar, I have never seen a badge actually show up. As far as I know there is no badge icon.

Professor is correct there is no badge for the icon for calendar.. you can only get it to show up in notification center..

You don't really need Badge's for the calendar with iOS 5. On the drop down menu, it show's everything that's on your calendar for the next 24 hours. That is the #1 thing that I use the drop down for. I like to see quick what I have to do for the day.
