Is it cool to let facebook instagram twitter stay open and not kill them off? if i keep all those apps running throughout the day will it affect my battery life..i usually check facebook and then kill it a couple times in a day

I have twitter & Facebook open all the time & it does not affect battery life. iOS is excellent at managing background apps & the only apps that would really kill the battery while their in the background are apps that are constantly using the GPS (navigation apps) or streaming apps (pandora, slacker etc). Basically if the app constantly needs the cellular radio or GPS, then it will kill the battery. Otherwise you should be fine.
