Trouble with Slingplayer App

Anyone else having trouble getting the slingplayer app on their iPad (original) to play in high quality? It will not load despite reinstalling the app and updating the firmware. It will only play in standard quality. Any ideas/help ould be appreciated!

It is a function of network speed and latency. I think that it defaults on start-up to the setting where it ended the last use. Quite candidly, I cannot see the difference in the image. I generally use HQ unless I am getting skips. Then I hit SQ, The skips go away but I do not notice any difference in the image.
