YouTube app

So I like to listen to music on YouTube alot on my laptop, but since I have an app for it, I've been listening to it on my iPhone, but it's dumb how you can't listen to the music in the background. Like you can't exit the app or hit the hold button or it'll stop playing. Anyone know any way to change that? Or what?

I've had this problem as well. Kind of annoying.

Yeah it sucks, for an app that comes standard on the phone, it should be more advanced.

Same problem here.
Can't believe that yt-app developers haven't thought of this, it should be one of the essential features.

Exactly, I wonder if they did it purposely or just never got around to it.
