Sorry I don't actually use MSN but for Google Talk and Yahoo! I use eBuddy. I am sure it will be just as good for you on MSN.

Ah the reviews seem to suggest that a latest update means it freezes alot and are all 1 star :/

Chad, the only way to figure it out is if you try it out for your self.

I swear by IM+. I like the email alert feature so I know when my non push accounts have received emails in real time! In fact I often get the email alert for my push email accounts faster than the email shows up!

Life Hacker had a nice breakdown of the top 5 IM apps available. BTW. Meebo won but they had a very nice breakdown of them all. May help you see which one is best for you.

Wasn't meebo used by 14 year old British boys?

I'd say Beejive. It's the best developed. While I'm+ isn't bad either. I also use whatsapp only because everyone else uses it. I can't believe that the app is that downloaded. Oh well. Beejive it has an awesome push system and sliding to unlock moves into that conversation.

How does everyone use their IM apps? Im assuming you leave them running in the background. How does that affect battery life?

I have both yahoo and aim forward to my phone as a SMS to conserve battery life.

Although not technically as feature rich as the rest of the options on here, the only IM I use on my iPhone is WhatsAp. Simply because my old msn, yahoo, AIM accounts are full up with people from when I was really young and I don't keep in touch with. I like WhatsAp as it is similar to BBM which I was an avid user of when I rolled with the dark side, plus Those BB users still keep in touch via their copies of WhatsAp.

Im Danny, from the UK (thought I better say hello seeing as its my first post) and I never used meebo when I was 14 lol! Never even heard of it

My fave is Beejive, by far, but I also use WhatsApp, which works well. I like that Beejive will keep me logged in and the other guys don't have to have it on their phones. Downside is it costs.

I've tried IM+ and it felt buggy. I actually bought Beejive, and liked it when it worked... But it was often very laggy (especially when coming back to the app from doing something else) and it frequently failed when trying to login to Facebook chat. (note: I primarily need aim and Facebook)

Surprisingly, the most stable and dependable app I've found for these two services has been the free Meebo. It works great and never fails me. Plus, I have yet to see any of the lag that I suffered in the other apps. My only wish is that it also handled skype chat.
