Can almost guarantee that one does not exist. For this to happen, the phone would have to have an internal thermometer, which it does not.

What does the iPhone use to detect overheating. Can it be used as an internal thermometer?

Even if there was I wouldn't trust it.

If the phone is too hot to hold then its too hot period.Place it in a cool place for a good m10-15 minutes.

I've left the ipad and my Touch 4thG in the sun before and they have warned me that they were too hot.

ALW is the best app of it’s kind. I downloaded it a couple weeks ago, and I have to say that I’m very impressed.ALW app lets you compare temperature difference from your home location. It exactly tells the temperature changes. I had all my friends download it and it’s so much easier to talk with them now. I don’t know why someone didn’t think of this app before because it’s genius! You can chat and call your friends in real time and stay up to date with everyone in your life. Check it out in the app store today!
