When the Google Voice App was FIRST released for the iPhone, I had it installed (iPhone 3GS). Then after a while I deleted it, and thus removed it from my computer, too...

What I want to know is, if I get the actual file that goes into the Windows folder on a computer, can I then reinstall it on my iPhone, i.e. would it show in iTunes?

    Would that work?

Is it not still in iTunes? I would think it should be. There is always Black Swan for GV if you do not want to JB. It works fine. Not as smooth as GV Mobile in Cydia but works fine.

Yeah, as long as you have a backup of the .ipa file or whatever it's called you should be able to add it back in.

What is Black Swan? Couldn't find it in the app store. Have been using the GV web app but would love something native without jailbreaking.

You have to go to Black Swan from your iPhone. It's a web app.
