That's right, we're moving TiPb Picks of the Week to the TiPb Forums so that you -- the community -- can help out our worn and weary staff recommend some great apps!

To kick things off, here's mine:

Plants vs. Zombies

Yes, PopCap has gone and gotten me again. I didn't think they would -- Zombies are usually Jeremy's thing -- but dang if this isn't fun and addictive. You plant plants, everything from pea shooters to sunflowers to cherry bombs, and they try to keep the zombies off your lawn and out of your house. The better you do, the harder it becomes.

I don't know what's more evil, zombies or the geniuses behind PopCap.

Give Plants vs. Zombies a try -- just don't blame me if you can't put it down (looking at you, Leanna!)

HAHA! I know! I've almost purchased it many times but I know it'll take over my life, so I'm waiting for this quarter to be over. At the end of next week, I will surely be buying Plants vs. Zombies

Icy Escort

I always check the latest price drops and I downloaded Icy Escort because it looked fun and its free, Well I was correct! Icy Escort has many fun levels you can play and its even the #1 free app in the US.

My pick this week has to be Rayman 2! I would consider this the first 3D action platformer or the iPhone. Lot's if fun and nostalgic! The thumb controls need to "float", but I am getting used to them.

My pick of the week is

My-Cast Weather. In my quest for the "perfect" weather app, My-cast has come pretty close. It doesn't contain all the information that others (like the Weather Channel) includes, but it has a fair amount of data and has a really nice interface. If you want to go beyond the included weather app, give My-Cast a try!

My pick is

TextMinder

This little app lets you set up reminders that are sent to you as a text message. It's always bothered me that the native calendar app doesn't let you schedule reminders without actually scheduling an event. TextMinder has been a great alternative. It's been doing a great job of reminding me to take my prenatal vitamins!

Take note though that this app does send text messages so your standard text messaging charges apply.

I've had My-Cast for about a month now and I'd have to agree. I have 3 weather apps, and My-Cast is always almost right on the spot as far as accuracy. TWC and Accuweather are garbage (at least in my area, they are always wrong.)

My pick would have to be an oldie (but it just got an update with a jungle theme!!)

Doodle Jump!! Ridiculously addicting but very simple. Pretty sure I've wasted hours of my life playing it.
