    These apps make sounds at very high pitch: something that youngsters (and dogs ) can hear but us oldies cannot.

    Will this sound at high frequencies burn the tweeters/speakers of the iPhone?

    I should hope not, since Apple approved these apps.. but I thought I'd ask, just in case.

    i have the dogwhistler app... yes its VERY loud and highpitched... so far no damage to my speakers

    Google search shows reports of damage (even some reviews in iTunes says that). So be careful, and use the sounds only for short bursts.

    I know of some app that damages my friends iphone speakers, that app used to keep away mosquitoes from you while you are sleeping, HE used this app for just one night and next day the sound quality was gone with a lot of distortion
