Per Macrumors, a Dutch website Bright.nl is reporting that TomTom is going to host a special media event on Sept. 22 where they will unveil "the future of navigation."

No mention of the iPhone but some are speculating that "the future of navigation" they're referring to IS the TomTom iPhone app.

If Garmin ever releases a Nuvi app for the iPhone, then my dream of having "the Big 3 (Telenav, TomTom, and Garmin)" on my iPhone will be complete! Garmin is already releasing an iPhone app for pilots, now they just need to make an iPhone app for drivers...

So far Sygic is reminding me a LOT of TomTom.

IMO, Sygic, Navigon, TomTom, and all the Eurobased GPS apps all share a similar look, at least superficially.

While Garmin, Telenav (AT&T Navigator), G-Map, and Gokivo seem to share a similar visual appearance, different from the European apps.
