Nullriver released a tethering software in the app store for $9.99. I searched for it and it comes up in the app store but when you try to buy it it says it's no longer available. Rats!!!

Even if it were still posted on the app store I'd steer clear of apps like this until we know exactly how At&t would react... I could just see all the huge bills people would be getting that first month they use something like this. Pure chaos.

I have been tethering my data plans forever and I have never been charged anything more than the regular 30 per month. I stream television most of the day on my laptop at work using my tethered black jack and have never had an issue. I doubt the iphone will be any different.

I'm glad I was able to pick this app up. I am going to tray to get it to work with my EEE PC.

Any more news as to whether Apple will ever officially allow tethering?

It's AT&T (and O2, and Rogers, and Orange, and T-Mo, and...) who have to allow tethering. They own the network pipe, not Apple.

Makes sense. So I imagine the answer is that we still don't know?
