That’s because WhatsApp is resizing and compressing the original video.
Videos aren’t in their original quality when sent via WhatsApp.

This also applies to photos. They are heavily compressed and resized.

It’s the main reason that I use iMessage or email to send photos of important stuff.

I love when I have friends with iPhones. The iMessage video and image quality is insanely better.
