The phone set up consists of literally pointing your phone at a swirling pattern. That’s it. Everything transfers.

I wanted to try it to see how it compared to Smart Switch on Samsung phones. I'll have to wait until I get my X to try it though. I don't have my 7 Plus anymore so I just set the 8 up as new.

Oh I haven’t bought a Samsung since the big size of the 7 Edge. So this was totally new to me.

I'm pretty sure they work the same way. It uses the NFC chip to connect the phones and does the transfer that way.

I read that Apple's official cases do fit. I've seen some 7 cases in stores that have "8 compatible" stickers on them. Not sure if all 3rd party fit though.

I just looked on Otterbox site and the cases are now listed as 8 Plus and 7 Plus, not separately. I'm not sure if they re-engineered them to fit both or
if they just fit from the original 7 Plus. No harm in trying your 7 Plus on the 8 Plus though.

Picked up my 256gb to tie me over till I can get the X! The silver looks a lot different then I expected. Was hoping it’d be lighter vs a shade of gray but still looks great and I’m excited for wireless charging

I did!! I was carrying a 6s Plus & a 7 Plus & just got tired of how heavy they are. The 8 is replacing the 6s Plus & the X will end up replacing the 7 Plus. I’ll miss the Jet Black but not the heft

Exactly. I’m self employed, so I like to keep all my business stuff separate. Plus I run all the betas on mu****intied business phone, so I can test apps with the updated software.
