I've ordered a FitBag alcantara sleeve for my iPhone 8. It's for a iPhone 6S/7 so I assume it will fit. I had one of these for my iPhone 6, loved it and somehow lost it! I prefer a sleeve to anything that is permanently attached to the phone.

I haven't bothered getting a case yet. Coming from much larger phones, the 8 seems really easy to hold on to comparatively. I may pick up a totallee or peel though just for grip.

Yes and it’s not slippery like my iPhone 6s without case !
The glass make it more sticky in your hand.
But not slippery does not mean it will never fall...
So I will get a case !

It's in-between the slipperiness of my last 2 phones. My last phone was the S8+. The Sammy seemed much more slippery, but that may just be because of the size difference. The S8+ is a bigger, heavier phone with a less balanced feeling because it's so tall. My 7 Plus was the Jet Black. It had way more grip than my 8 does, but it was so wide it made it feel less secure in my hand. I prefer the feel of the Jet Black honestly, but the 8 will do until I can get my X.

Waiting for my minimalist Pitaka case, but in the mean time my 6s case witch is a Speck for iPhone 7 fit like a glove on my iPhone 8 ! And it surprise me to work on the Belkin charger pad even if it is a pretty tick case with those no-slip grip side.

It's actually the same case I am using now. I was using Speck on my 6, but with my 7 I went with Apple Leather. Due to the size of going to an 8-Plus I wanted something with more grip, so back to Speck. It's always held up for me as a good solid case. Charges well with my doc / charger choices.

Just received my new Case. Pitaka Aramid iPhone case.
I got also a very strong little mag mount for the car.
I was scared that the metal in the case would do trouble with the Belkin charger pad, but no ! Work perfectly !
