I'm confused, who launches first?

The theory is that the jump from the 7 and 7 Plus will be significant enough to warrant skipping the S year. We will see.

Pretty much.

I just have a hunch that whatever the 7S and 7S Plus are will just be named the 8 and 8 Plus instead. But I'm not in marketing so Apple ultimately decides what's best for them.

The fact that they're going to have glass backs is enough for me to warrant skipping the 'S'

"regular sized non-Plus model"...LOL. Now that's avoiding confusion. It and it's big brother are both supposed to have the True Tone "true color" display technology. So they should both be better than the 7.
