I've heard the rumors and talks about Apple introducing the 512 GB iPhone 8 model. I've started to think more and more about this possibility and how it relates to my uses.

I've determined that I don't need that much. I've got the 256 GB model currently and I've got around 140 GB left over. If I continue annual upgrades, there is no point in me spending the extra for a 512 GB iPhone that I'll never fill. 256 GB works for me because it gives me a nice cushion.

What works best for you?

I've got a 64 gig and have over 40 gigs left over lol. I don't even need a 128, definitely don't need a 512. My MacBook is a 256 gig and I don't even have it half full and it's full of little video clips for running propresenter for our church. Don't understand needing that much space on you all the time.

I do use it.
I keep music, movies, and TV series locally stored on my device because I prefer having them readily available rather than having to rely on any kind of network or streaming.

Yes! LOL

All kidding aside, I used to think 16 GB was enough. I would seriously consider 512 GB if I thought I’d be keeping the iPhone for more than a year but, being the annual upgrade snob I am, I’m more apt to go for the 256 GB model because I’m taking less risk than someone who keeps their phones for a long time.

128 GB is a good medium for me at this point. 64 is cutting it close because I have 2 years worth of iPhone stacked on my iCloud...So, if 128 is offered in the iPhone 8 I'd definitely probably stick to that. I came no where, and I mean no where close to touching that on my 256 GB.

Yep,

I don’t even have all my TV shows and movies downloaded and I want to keep downloading new music. I will definitely be getting the 512GB variant if it’s true. I travel a lot and it’s easier to use my phone on a plane than my iPad.

This is where I am as well. I'll definitely go for a 256 model. But since I upgrade every year, paying the extra isn't worth it for me.

Makes sense!

Side-note: I like how iOS 11 (I'm assuming that's the beta) is going to handle storage management. Bringing it more in line with MacOS in how it is displayed.

That is indeed iOS 11. I’m pretty indifferent on how it handles storage. It’s mostly the same except being able to offload unused apps to free up storage. But that won’t be necessary with a 512GB phone ha ha.

I’m going to get the highest storage configuration on whatever the 11th generation iPhone will be called. Since the iPhone doesn’t have expandable memory I get the largest storage configuration available.

I don't need 512gb but I can see where some people would. It really depends on how you use your phone. I don't need that much on my MacBook either. I have 256gb and that's enough for what I use it for. 128gb on the phone is good for me.

I'm hoping they'll offer a 128gb model. I'm currently using less than 80gb, so even a 256gb is too much.

I have 39gb left of 64gb so unless I turn into a games freak, or establish myself as a portable cinema I can't see it !!

I've only had my 7 Plus for 6 months and I have 110 GB left so the 128 GB has been more than fine for me. The 256 GB would be extra gravy and the 512 GB would be overkill for me.

Yes, I could fill my phone up in a matter of days with content if I were to buy a 512GB.

This is my current situation:
