iPhone 8 Plus PRODUCT (Red) is now a thing!

And it comes with a black front face plate. It should've been black on the 7 Plus. It looks stunning, but not enough for me to trade in my X for.

My assumption is that they put a black front to distinguish between red 2017 and red 2018

That looks so sharp. I understand why they don’t, but I wish they would do these from day one. I’ve always gone space gray, but with the black front on this I would probably break the pattern.

I am very glad to see Apple went with black front this year for the Red version. I had the 7 Plus in Red last year, and although it was stunning to look at, I very much prefer the black front when consuming media.

I will for sure be ordering one tomorrow

I have always hated that they do this so far past the initial release of the original models. Personally, I'm a larger fan of the white/red combo than the black/red, though.

I agree. The iPhone 7 Plus was the premium iPhone last year. Trading in the X for a red 8 Plus would be a downgrade, IMO.

Bingo!....Unless it's a contractual thing, it doesn't make sense to release the Project Red devices months after releasing the flagship device. I feel the same way in regard to them waiting months later to offer the carrier-free iPhone models.

My guess it had to do with the stainless bezel. Getting it right. That was the rumor why gold iPhone never made the cut this year for the X. Issues with doing the gold SS bezel.

Can't believe they listened this time and did the black front. I may have to buy it and add it to my collection. This is the last model of touch ID too. Will be a conversation piece for sure

Yep, will do, and will be posting pics as well. I really liked the Product (RED) iphone 7 Plus I had last year, so I am sure I will like this one too...especially with the black front plate.
