    I have a new iphone 8plus.

I purchased the Smart electronics solutions charger:

Wireless Charger, Qi Wireless Fast Charging Pad Station Mat 10W for Samsung Galaxy S8, S7, S6, Edge, Note 5, iPhone 8, 8 Plus, iPhone X, Nexus, HTC, Nokia, LG G6 -2A AC Wall Charger INCLUDED (Black)

It says fast charge but when I look at the output on the pad it states: 5v 2000mah.

What specs. are needed for fast charging? How does one know if you are actually getting a fast charge?

    Thank you.

Apple devices don’t support full fast wireless charging. If you’re running the latest version of iOS your iPhone 8/8+/X will support up to 7.5 watts, but you’ll need a charging base that provides at least 7.5 watts AND a wall charger that is 7.5 watts or greater. Any QuickCharge 3.0 compatible Qi bases and wall chargers should do the trick.

This support article is specific to wireless charging:

Could use a iPad charger for faster charging.

I have one of the Belkin Qi Chargers, which I bought from Apple. I use it at home. I wait until my phone is below 20% before putting it on the charger and it takes about 2 hours to charge the phone. It's not as fast as I'd like, but I realize that fast charging isn't really a possibility.... YET!

When I'm at work, I charge my phone with the iPad charger, and it definitely charges the phone faster than if I used the iPhone charger.

    Hope this helps!

If you need to charge fast you, need a 29w usb-c, or greater charger and a usb-c to lightning cable.
