Yep, it basically protects the glass back from scratches.... I wouldn't want to try a "drop test" :raised-eyebrow:

I just received my new iPhone 8 plus! So excited! My question here is with previous iPhones I would use a case and with the old backing materials I was not so worried about dust getting inside the case and moving around. I have read a lot of reviews about the glass on the new iPhones will scratch very easily and I am worried that using a case will still allow dust in and scratch the back...would you all recommend to use a skin (dBrand) or should it be okay with a case like Spigen or Apple brand case?

I think any case should be fine, if you want to be super safe, then install a skin on it.

I just ordered a “Loopy Case” (can find them at loopycases.com if you want to check them out) and I’m hoping it will be awesome. We’ll see....
It’s a different take on putting a ring on the back of your phone to help hold it securely. The loop is a rubber-like material that is attached through the case and not stuck on.
Because the loop is soft stretchy material it can be pressed flat and hopefully won’t interfere with wireless charging.
I had never heard of them and just happened to see them referenced in a video I watched.
Sounds interesting and l’ll let you know.

I got this body guardz from Best buy. Nice feel, minimal bulk, and the frost look shows off the Apple logo with no finger print/ smudges at all

I just ordered this case from Peel today in the jet white. I like minimal cases and have had them from Caudabe and Totallee but hadn’t tried Peel yet. Excited to get it!
I also got my Loopy case in Rose Marble and I really like it too. The loop is really nice and comfortable.

These are very pretty. I like the rose one. I was a sucker and ordered a Glass+ Lux 360 from Zagg so trying not to purchase anymore cases.
