Battery drain and weird thing happens when I try to close apps

One night I decided not to charge my phone when I went to bed and I have 72% battery left. By the next morning, it was down to 18%. I have noticed also, when I double click to go in and swipe up to close apps, down at the bottom of the screen, I have a gray and white box that says "Facebook based on your current location", and has the FB emblem on the tab looking thing? I have location turned off for Facebook. I would post a picture, but I don't have the option to post on here, for whatever reason!

So my questions are:
1. How can I check what is draining my battery?

2. What is this FB thing in my app closing screen?? And does anyone else see it?

Go to Settings > Battery and see what app used the most battery in the last 24 hours.

Not sure about that Facebook thingie, as I've never seen it before.

Since coming back to the iPhone I've noticed facebook consuming an alarming amount of battery. I've uninstalled it last night and now using friendly
