It looks great! [emoji16]
Originally there was no cutout for the home button. Slickrap Sadie said the piece was extra and I’d have to remove the front. Instead, my son cut the circle you see, so it’s an all-around.
Still using and loving the Aqua Mint Otterbox Commuter but I ordered the Ringke “Flow” in clear today. Reason: it has a notch to put a wrist strap if I want.
I used to have a Ringke Air Prism and sold it, but I wouldn’t have if I knew what the strap notch was for in the first place.
Nice case for $13 Cdn.
price????
$13 Cdn
Otterbox Symmetry
Apple black leather with matte black 7... the perfect stealth combo.
Put aside my aqua Commuter for a little while because my Ringke “Flow” case came in. For $12-$13 this case is amazing, it’s got a nice lip over the glass lots of room for a screen protector and covers the camera lens and everything well. Perfectly aligned cut outs for speakers and nice firm “clicky” volume control feel for the buttons.
I had the air prism model before in clear and never should’ve sold it, but I like the flow better.
I also like that there is a lanyard strap loop on the lower left-hand side, so if you want to attach a strap or wristband if you do a lot of walking over sidewalks and stuff that’ll come in handy. Not too many have the lanyard as far as I could tell off Amazon/EBay. Ringke does make their own straps albeit a little pricy.
I just wanted a change to show off the gold colour of the iPhone 7 for a little while. I think they have three or four different colours for these clear cases.
It is a flexible soft silicone rubber with very good grip, but very pocket friendly as well.
Nice!
I ordered caseology clear case but it snapped near the mute switch. I wasn’t too keen on the look really once I put it on the phone so submitted an amazon complaint and went down the refund route. Shame really. Like the look of the ringke case! Interesting!
I must stop getting cases.... I’ve got 6 now I think lol
Thanks ha ha. Yeah Caseology, those cases look pretty good. My buddy was going to have me order one for his G5, but then we noticed this one by vina so it is the one we went with. It’s held up good and he likes it. But the style of the vina reminds me of the Caseology.
Has anyone had both the berry and pink fuchsia leather cases? I was thinking of getting one for my wife, and to me the berry looks darker, but I can't tell for sure from pictures. Also how do they look after some use. I know they darken, but how much?
I’m using Spigen liquid crystal matte black
Spigen Tough Armor in Jet Black.
Otterbox Commuter, matte black
I read that some people are using it without the front screen protector, because sometimes the protector get scratchy and you have to press harder like for texting or whatever. Also I’m not sure but I think I read the defender has a version that does not come with the front screen protector but you can add your own.
Can anyone clarify this?
Actually, I apologize, I have the otterbox commuter , not defender. I got the version without the protector and brought a tempered glass and it fits great.
I always removed the screen protector from my Defender cases and replaced it with a tempered glass screen protector.
Me too.
I was never a fan of those pre-installed screen protector from the case.
Yup, they're a floating screen protector and stuff gets stuck between it and the screen and it drives me nuts. Plus it looks nicer with a tempered glass or adhesive screen protector.
So am I right in that I heard there might be an Otterbox Defender version offered without the floating screen protector.
I gotta say, I think the Otterbox Commuter is perfect with a tempered glass screen protector, there is just enough room between the protector and where the case starts. I made the mistake of installing the protector a little too far on the right side but it doesn’t interfere with anything like the earpiece.
I should have held out for the new “Ocean Way” colour
Nice! Where did you order this from?
How did you know I ordered it lol. Amazon, it was $35 Cdn. Retail is $50.
Here is the new colour I like better.....(reminds me of a 1950’s Buick colour called Seafoam Green”
Sweet! I’ll keep an eye on uk prices! [emoji108]
And yet ANOTHER new colour for the Commuter today that I saw
“Sundance Aqua”
Love it!
I think I prefer “Ocean Way” from post #423 .
Just ordered a Vena Allure in Aqua, couldn’t resist the price it is 80% off right now, supposedly over $20 and on for only $6.50 Cdn. Not bad for a 2 layer slim case. Ebay

Been using this one a while, liking it :)
Smart!
Buying cases on eBay does have an element of risk! Never know what quality will be like with cheaper cases!
I had a Vena Harmony before from EBay, but I know the company is good because Imore did a story on it once calling it one of the best and most protective cases.
https://www.imore.com/accessories-iphone-7?amp
But I would agree for any cheap case made in say.....China, but this is a California Company I believe and they have the cases made in South Korea, The South Koreans are pretty serious about quality, Hyundai tied Porsche for JD Power top spot a few years ago [emoji6]
The seller on EBay is in Minnesota so I think it might be 80% off because of the holidays still.
Ordered yet another Vena case, the “Harmony” in navy blue with gold. Couldn’t resist and only $13 Cdn. I had one before in aqua teal, gave it to my neighbour who has the exact same gold iPhone 7 as mine and I couldn’t handle seeing hers naked with a chipped tempered glass screen protector haha, she loved it.
I really dig the design even tho it is a little slippery so good thing it is a double layered case with “Corner Guard” pockets for drop protection.
I did a video review on the aqua Harmony and posted it in here back in June.

iOS 11 has forced me into a battery case.
Got the Baseus Slim 2500mah one - it’s awesome to be fair. Very slim, quick charging and doesn’t have me worrying about being near a charger.
Does 20% to 100% no problem.

Spigen ultra hybrid 2.
Black sides, clear back.
Lovin it!
Attachment 121817
Nice, too bad it's not available for the iPhone X.
Hmm right you are. I don’t see much from them for iPhone X, just a card case and one that looks like a budget Otterbox
Attachment 121892
Exactly!
Luvvitt Ultra Slim clear case on my rose gold iPhone 7. I absolutely love it. It's as close as you can possibly get to not having a case while having one. :)
Ok my Vena vAllure case came and this is my first unboxing video so forgive what you see haha.
Nice case but I have a bit of an issue with it and I will show what it is in my second video I just made....

Vena vAllure case follow up ......

I should mention that there is a tempered glass screen protector and there is about 1 mm at the most screen protection with that on. Is that typical? Is this something that you could live with or do you like a little more protection like my OtterBox commuter offers?
New case, Vena Harmony in Jet Black.

Thank you for sharing. Looks cool.
I bought the Apple leather case when I bought it, now use a £2 gel case !!
Defender, like that Pursuit though. I use a holster so that puts the Pursuit out.
Currently using otter box pursuit case
Otter box defender
I'm still using the Black Leather, however it's my second one. I wore the first one out.
All of the Nillkin case for iPhone 7 [emoji41]
And Rinke slim!
Just ordered two square cases
Look forward to seeing them!!! [emoji15]

Simply Carbon Fiber. I looked everywhere for a real Carbon Fiber case. This was the only true Carbon Fiber case I found. It looks gorgeous
That looks cool, where from if you don’t mind?
https://www.simplycarbonfiber.com/co...ber-phone-case. It's not cheap when compared to other iPhone cases but for what it is, The price is spot on. It is the real deal!!
I use a normal silicone cover which does not add bulk and gives me enough protection.
Here’s one.
How are they to hold? I imagine the edges cutting into your hands!
Not bad actually. It’s made of rubber so it’s not sharp at all.
Mophie Juicepack
Not too impressed with the Ringke Air. And its ratings are 4-5 stars. ( I plan to keep the 7 for another year, still just as fast as when I got it)
https://youtu.be/FPyulXTZlPo
I have to say the new Spigen Ultra Hybrid is a great case, it has a LOT more protection on the side lips of the screen and the camera bump is huge in comparison. Better grip on the sides also despite being curved to the contour of the phone. For $26 Cdn it wasn’t money wasted.

Unicorn Beetle Pro by Supcase. It's a great case and cheaper than Otterbox. I have one on my Air 2 and Galaxy S8.
Ditto!!
I hear ya, my 7 Plus was a beast and I kept it for 2 years. It could have easily went another year or two. However, while my 7 plus didn't slow down I can definitely tell the speed difference and overall performance with my Xs Max. I skipped my yearly upgrade and waited two years, glad I did, now I can really appreciate the word upgrade...LOL
Yep I understand. In this past week I helped my friend who has never had an Apple product, set up his new iPhone 8 that he got in black. Beautiful phone in fact I gave him the Spigen Ultra Hybid case you see above, and I went back to my OtterBox commuter on my seven, but there didn’t seem to be much if any speed difference between the 7and the 8 that I noticed.
My two year contract is finally up with Rogers so immediately I shifted to a cheaper plan so now I’m paying $65 a month and I’m glad to save that money. I don’t think I ever want to sign a contract again because you can go on a cheaper plan if you out right buy or already own the phone. The only problem is something like the new iPhone XR is $1049 Canadian, so I guess I better start saving ;-). I will try to go at least until fall with this iPhone 7 and my battery health is still pretty good at 88% so maybe I can squeeze even another year out of it. With the Otterbox commuter I know I’m well protected Even if I drop it on a sidewalk.
I understand that. I recently put the Otterbox Defender on my Xs Max because I plan on keeping it for a minimum of two years and want it to last with the max (no pun intended) protection for everyday use. Don't get me wrong, I love my Apple Leather cases and will keep them in reserve for when style and charisma is required ...LOL
I have a similar Spigen case in my 8 Plus and love it!
OK so I was at Winners store in my hometown in Saskatchewan here and they have quite a good couple of deals on iPhone 7 cases. I’d like to know everyone’s impressions of these cases or if you’ve ever had one. I ended up getting the Speck Presidio Grip model in Granite Grey for only $17 and at retail stores they go for around $50 here. I noticed on Amazon they might run around $30-$35. One thing people were complaining about in the reviews for the Presidio Grip case is that the rubber grip lines can start peeling after only a couple weeks or so but I am Not the kind of person who crams a cell phone into my back pocket. I’m pretty easy on my cases. Another complaint there seems to be about this case after reading every single review I could find is that if you drop the phone with this case the case usually breaks, because it’s sort of a hard type of polycarbonate plastic. And one other issue is that I find the lip very small over the glass screen and on some YouTube videos they drop them from the rated 10 feet it’s supposed to be good for or less and if it lands on the screen it’s bye-bye iPhone screen and hello spider webbing. Of course those were broken without using any sort of screen protector on it and I always use a screen protector. I guess I’m feeling like the phone is a little naked since I am used to using an OtterBox commuter for the last year and a half so I’m just wondering what everyone’s experience with the speck Presidio Grip has been?
The other case that you see here it was only $12.99 and it is the new pelican Marine waterproof clear case for the iPhone 7 or eight and apparently it’s five pieces or five layers of protection and according to some of the reviews the case can break up in many pieces if you drop your phone with it. But you know for $12.99 I almost took the plunge just to play with the case but I didn’t bother. Notice on Amazon these cases can be up to $70 or so, Canadian prices of course.
Which would you say is the better model here?
Nice click buttons on the Speck for the volume buttons but for some reason I don’t find the clickiness to be the same or as stiff onnthe power sleep button. I prefer the stiff buttons on my Commuter case because then I do not accidentally turn the screen off the way I hold the device sometimes.
I'd go with the Pelican. Has a screen protector.
That’s true, but then I would have to peel off the perfect Dura glass-screen protector I put on two years ago and there’s only one little small chip on the corner so far in two years
Good point. Whichever affords the best protection.
You know I have a buddy who has been using the same black life proof case on his iPhone 6 since the phone was brand new, there are gaping holes worn on the side of it, it looks beaten to a pulp and the built-in screen protector literally feels like sandpaper, screen looks all hazy. I’m sure they’re great when they’re new LOL but I think I would rather just use the tempered glass screen protectors. One thing about his life proof case though it’s not as thick as any OtterBox Defender with the built-in screen protector.
Ok so I couldn’t resist, went back and bought a spare Speck Presidio Grip and that Pelican case....
Will probably give the Pelican to a buddy who just got an iPhone 8 (should fit) because he is a fisherman
Yeah. My buddy has the pelican for the 7/8 and loved it. He can still wirelessly charge with it on as well
One thing about that pelican you sure have to only use Apple lightning chargers because my aftermarket one wouldn’t fit. It’s quite a deep hole too, I guess a guy could file down the block that surrounds the lightning part. But yeah I really liked how the buttons were clicky and nice and firm, even more firm than my OtterBox commuter and I like that so I don’t accidentally hit buttons the way I hold a phone sometimes.
Does anyone know if Apple makes a 6 foot lightning cable? I know the standard is the 3 foot one.
[QUOTE=RaybanRJ;3135117]Does anyone know if Apple makes a 6 foot lightning cable? I know the standard is the 3 foot
They do. It’s on their website as the 2 meter cable. imore won’t let me post the link.
So I just bought a Lumee “two” case in white. The LED’s are pretty cool and it will light up an entire room but I am curious if anyone else has one and wondering if there’s turns off after about two minutes? Because I think I read it supposed to run at least continuously about an hour or more.
EDIT: it runs 5 minutes and turns off. Would love to be able to set this to stay on but I guess we cannot have everything ;)
Ah....ok[emoji846]
Ahh ya..... thanks for responding [emoji19]
There are a ton of really nice MFi certified lightning cables available, many for a fraction of the price Apple charges. I have a bunch of 6-foot braded cables and they’re great. Here’s one from AmazonBasics.
AmazonBasics Double Braided Nylon Lightning to USB Cable, Advanced Collection, MFi Certified iPhone Charger, Dark Grey, 6 Foot https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0753R2TWC...mUvbUpU3169732
Anker makes really good cables too but they’re a tad more expensive than Amazon’s.
I’ve purchased both and agree that Amazon’s is a better deal! Our “sister forum” Thrifter periodically features good deals on both makes.
Ah the beautiful thing about using an older iPhone, the smart battery cases are plentiful and cheap ;) this one is 3000 mA, just enough to fully charge the iPhone battery once. Yes I know the 7’s battery is 1960 MAH but I believe the rating on these cases are overrated.
i am using a +fun case and looks sturdy the rubber (like meliconi remote control protector) but the problem is that no protect the screen and i got the consequence of that , two days ago a coin in my pocket has broken the temperate glass protector fortunately i decide at the same time of renew my phone to buy a screen protector ,so the damage is not too serious .so i am thinking look for a folio case and reemplace sooner the temperated glass for a new one .
what folio case can you suggest me for Iphone 7?
