No pickup available in the entire DC area - got an "unable to contact your carrier" saved reservation message and ordered in the first 5 minutes with a 9/26 estimated ship date for the Sprint 256gb Jet Black - not happy about this process

EDIT: of COURSE their servers down!!! AT&T was such an EASY process (upgraded girlfriend's phone during call with tmobile within seconds (order in at 3:00:35am!!!). omgggg
Got in to at&t at 2:58 but black was already pushed to 9/23. Was able to get into the Apple store app at 3:06 and got the black 128gb 7 Plus with a 9/16 delivery date.

Got my pink 128 Plus for pickup on the 16th, but wasn't able to get one for my husband. Tried both blacks and silver. We're doing the upgrade program again, so it has to be store pickup. Some states were available for silver, but not Maryland. I tried both 128 and 256. Very frustrating!
Hmm, I won't be able to order till Monday and the Jet Black 7+ for Sprint is now showing a 4-6 week shipping window, sigh. Hope it doesn't go any further out than that by then... I was however able to order an Apple leather case for it that should arrive by the middle of next week. Good luck to all who stayed up/woke up to preorder, it's back to bed for me.
