I would suggest its an Intel vs Qualcom issue but if you have an ATT 7 plus and TMO 7 plus they both have Intel chips.
Give us more info. As another person already thought you were switching sim cards.
are you in an area where its worked great before? lots of missing info.

I'm going to go with "the area you are in" as a possible issue. I have the T-Mobile 7 Plus and have no issues with reception. Definitely NOT an Intel vs Qualcom issue here.

I'm in a area where there is full att and I would say 3-4 bars Tmobile. So yes it has worked before but now its strange. I have a lg g6 also that does the same thing. Maybe it is my coverage area but my wife has a iPhone 6s Plus with no issue or her lgg6 . I think the system hates me lol

Yes, I definitely have worse signal at work with my 7 Plus than I have in the past. It's only while in the center of the building, which isn't a huge issue for me. However, I never had that issue before the 7 Plus.

It is also possible that T-Mobile is doing tower upgrades in your area, which is causing issues.

I've got the Verizon iPhone 7 Plus and using it on T-Mobile; I had some issues where it dropped the signal (in low signal areas) and then I had to put the phone into airplane mode to get the signal back, but that was back in October when the phone was new. When the carrier information updated in November, the issue went away, and it quit being an issue. But it is possible a recent carrier update caused this issue again, and if it is that issue, the next carrier update should fix it.

I switched from Verizon to T Mobile and it has been great. No signal issues for me in the Boston area

I've had this issue periodically since I got my 7+ (also a Verizon model in use on T-Mobile). It's not limited to T-Mobile though -- I've had this happen in several places when abroad. My wife's 6s right next to me has never had this issue.

My conclusion is that there are some bugs lingering in the communications software. Changing its internals to diversify for the 7 generation (i.e. with both Qualcomm and Intel as suppliers) probably caused some instability.

The only time I run into issues is with weak signal or traveling through areas where there is no signal. Otherwise my reception is always great.
