This may be a stupid question but please bear with me. If I use a lightning to USB cable and plug my phone into my car's USB slot, will I be able to see my phone's screen on my car's screen for navigation? I have a 2015 Camaro. I don't want to sync it to my car for phone call purposes though. Thank you.

You will not be able to see your iPhone's screen on your Camero's infotainment system. If your car is compatible with CarPlay, however, you should be able to use Apple Maps directly through your car for navigation.

I just found out that my car does not have CarPlay. It started with the 2016 model. But we also have a 2016 Silverado, so I think it has CarPlay. I'll be checking it out soon! Problem is I don't drive that vehicle very often.

Worse case a car mount?

I drive a 2008 Subaru Forester... and the selling point of a Subaru is that they last forever-which is great, until you realize you're missing out on the incredible technology developments that come out every single new model year. This makes my car ancient in technology terms, so I use a car mount and it works just fine!

My 2012 Accord doesn't have it, so I improvised.
