I have a spare iPhone 6S that was my primary iPhone before I upgraded to the 8. My teenage son decided to use this spare iPhone since I had taken away his iPhone. This only made things worse for him as he now has no iPhone at all.

Anyway, he had apparently set a pass lock code that according to him he cannot remember what it is. We’ve tried numerous combinations to no avail. I am the original owner of the iPhone and still have the original receipt from when I purchased it from AT&T.

Is there anyway I can somehow restore this device to factory settings not knowing what the unlock code is? I would like to have this phone “ready to use” in case I were to loose my current iPhone 8 or it became damaged. That’s always been my reason for having it as a spare. Where I can just set it up, pop the SIM card in, and be ready to go.

Yes, the link @Rob Phillips posted is going to be your only option. As long as you have all the information needed, you should be good to go.

If not, congratulations. You now have a digital paperweight.
