My iPhone 6s shut down and now will not start up

So I’ve done a forced reset and the apple logo comes on and the screen is very dimly backlit. The apple stays on screen for 10-15 mins then goes off, the screen stays the same, very dimly backlit. It also seems that the battery isn’t charging. I’ve put a brand new battery in but it’s still the same. Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried starting it in DFU mode and see if it is detected by a computer in iTunes?

Yeah, I connected to iTunes on my pc. I tried an update followed by a reset, both times it came up with error 9, unable to complete.
