SIM free iPhone 6S bought in Oman, doesn't work with Japaneses carriers!

Is there any possibility that my iPhone 6S is REGIONAL LOCKED? I've been using this iPhone with different carriers in different countries, but I can't use it in Japan. I thinks it has nothing to do with the model 6S 'cause a friend of mine has one iPhone 6 and he is using it perfectly with the same carrier. Mine gets a weak signal for few seconds.

Have you tried your friends Sim in your 6s to see if it’s truly your device at issue

There are 4 different models of iPhone 6S: A1633, A1688, A1691, A1700. Make sure you get the one designed to work in Japan.
