In a local retailer, I saw the iPhone 6S, 32 Gigs. It sells for around $640. And that's not even a promotion. For the holidays I expect it to fall to $550. You may say it's too much for a 2 year old phone, but the 8 for comparison is starting from $965. I live in Bulgaria. Those phones are expensive and you may not believe how many people still buy them here. I'm a developer, I have a Hackintosh, and my question is - should I get my first iDevice this Christmas?

As you may know, the 32 Gig iPhone 6S is a refresh from the last year, not the original one from 2015.

Still a very worthy phone. I still know people using 5 and 5s. It will still get upgrades for a couple years and you will get a few years use from it. Thanks.

Get it! That’s a huge price for the 6S, but that’s your only choice given the 8 is so much more pricey.

Well, if the iPhone SE is available, it has the same processor as the 6s. Touch ID is still the older, slightly slower version, and there is no 3D touch, but otherwise it's basically a 6s in a smaller package, and it's usually quite a bit less expensive.

And the camera is worse too...

Here in the U.S., prices spike during the holidays and then drop afterwards. As for whether or not you should purchase the 32 GB iPhone 6S, I’m not sure. The iPhone 6S in and of itself is an excellent device, but will 32 GB of storage be sufficient for you? Are you the type that hoards a lot of apps, photos, videos and music “on the device”? If so, then it may not be a good buy. Having said that, if you’re not a hoarder of the aforementioned or you do a good deal of ‘streaming’ as well as take advantage of cloud services then yeah, go for it, in my opinion.

Only the “selfie” camera. The rear facing camera is the same as the 6s.

    Yes, but it’s a point.

The 6s is still a worthy phone in late 2017. It runs iOS 11 very well. It will get updates for probably at least 2 more years. Go for it.
