Stock primarily because 3rd party keyboards do not support voice dictation. That being said, if Swiftkey is better than stock in most other ways, I may have to give Swiftkey a try
SwiftKey would love to add the dictation mic, but Apple won't allow it.

The keyboard accesses written media in order to write to it. In other words, it needs to access an email in order to respond to it. That's different to access to your account.

Let's look at it from the perspective of a photo app. It needs access to your photos in order to be able to edit them. Otherwise it couldn't perform itis functions. That's different than access to them in order to store them or to use them beyond the intended function.

I don't mind Photoshop Express accessing my photos. I don't, however, give those photos to a storage solution that I don't trust. And I don't give Photoshop Express the option of saving them for me. My photos are in my device, my laptop, and in iCloud.

Hope that explains it a bit.
    It does! Thanks a bunch

I have tired almost all of the third party keyboards. Most of them are great, but they still have limited functionality. I use the quick reply on the lock screen a lot and third party keyboards are not accessible. Also, to date no keyboard gives access to the dictation mic and I use that all the time when I can't spell a word 😃

I use the stock keyboard mostly because none of the 3rd party ones that I'd like to use support Korean. I find the switch back and forth in visuals and interface between Apple's keyboard and a 3rd party keyboard too jarring and usually gives me a headache

I've used SwiftKey with no problem at all (afa security); and really love the swipes over pecking on the now-better iOS stock.

Only problem is that SW is now a bit too big on my new Plus for me to comfortably swipe like I used to on my small(er) 5s.

Would anyone have any suggestions for a keyboard that adapts itself better to the Plus-size and/or one-handed operation?

SwiftKey all the way! They are especially great if you communicate in 2 or more languages. The stock ios keyboard does this very poorly. SwiftKey is much quicker and puts in words way way faster.

And no, they do not steal your information, read about it. There is no way Apple would allow 3rd party keyboard apps to do this.

Try SwiftKey, and you definitely won't want to go back to stock keyboard, especially if you communicate in more than one language.

I want SwiftKey to work on IOS, but even one crash is too much for me. ( The keyboard not showing up in a hurry). Just read about neural update on Android SwiftKey and that would be cool on IOS.
Stock keyboard on other hand just works. And the predictions have saved me so many typos.

By the way, I use stock. I got Swiftkey for the holiday themes but I removed it immediately after. I just prefer stock.
That is a cool holiday keyboard!

I really like the stock keyboard with its word suggestions, buy I'm having a lot of fun with the new alternate keyboards included in the new version of Hanx Writer. When I have my iPhone un-muted, it looks and sounds like I'm typing on one of three real typewriters!

If you have a non word you made by mistake, press on it in the predictive box and the option to delete that non word will come up.

I use Swype. The only feature I want that's not on the stock keyboard is the swipe typing. AFAIK, Swype is the only one that gives that, so none of the others are even worth my time.
Swiftkey also does "swyping". With better word prediction as well. At least on Android it's better, but it still swipes for sure on iOS as well. I tested it on my wife's iPad before I jumped from Android to iOS.

The only reason i ever wanted a 3rd party keyboard was i want the dark keyboard that you see in spotlight search. I love that look. So then i started looking at swift key, swype and fleksy. The problem is Apples iOS implementation of third party keyboards is not that great. If you have stock, plus emojis plus 3rd party keyboard it acts wonky when you want to switch. Not only that it takes longer for the keyboard to come up but when switching to landscape view its not smooth and can have odd UI artifacts or unexpected results (in my experience iOS 9.0.2, iOS 8 all versions). I use to jailbreak literally just to use bloard for a dark keyboard but i wont do that anymore with apple pay being something i use.

Coming from Android this year I've continued using SwiftKey on iOS. Sadly it's not as good as it's on Android, but I've kept using it due to the multiple language (at the same time) support, and the prediction/auto-correction. Hopefully Apple can make 3rd party keyboard support less buggy in upcoming versions of iOS.

The stock keyboard for me. 3rd party keyboards always have that "3rd" party feel. They just don't seem to mesh well with the entire system.

Now that the jailbreak is out, if you were to jailbreak your phone then you could download a tweak that will resize your keyboard. It's called "HandyKey".
If you don't plan on jailbreaking then I'm not sure if there's another way.

    Stock.
I used swiftkey for years on android and used it for a while when I first got my first iPhone. It works brilliantly, after a little time, I don't even have to type-I can just touch the predicted word. Great keyboard option but I'm using stock and it's almost as good; I feel like I can type faster with the apple keyboard.
