This is for my wife, who is having her Nexus 5 phone 16GB model for last two years. By two years of usage, the Nexus 5 still got 5GB storage remaining.

So my question buying the iPhone 6s is whether to go for 16Gb model or 64 GB model.

She use amazon cloud for photos storage and flickr for videos storage. Music and videos are streamed via online music portal, netflix, amazon instant etc.

Regarding the photos, we wont take much photos on her Nexus 5 because of camera quality, rather we use my Galaxy S6 and Canon DSLR.

Assuming, Iphone 6s camera is great, we will now equally or more use the Iphone 6s camera/video recording more than galaxy S6 and dslr everyday usage or combination of these 3 if we go for any long trips.

She wont use much apps/games on phone. We have ipad air 2 for some kids games.

Please suggest if its going for 64GB spending extra $100 is worthy? or just go with 16GB model and weekly push the media contents to cloud?.

Also, How about iphones IOS upgrades size limits in next two years?

Better to have and not need than need and not have when it comes to storage.

As far as I am concerned the 16gb model does not even exist, and that's what I tell anyone who asks me this question. So absolutely yes, spending a $100 to quadruple the on-board memory is an absolute no-brainer IMO.

There is no good reason to purchase the 16gb version. 64 should be the standard and 128 is a nice future proofing idea.

The 16GB model isn't for the individual user. The 16GB model is for businesses and agencies to supply to their employees who buy huge numbers of iPhones.

I encouraged my whole family to get the iPhones. They got the 6 models. I went with the 6s. But the 16 wasn't even an option. It's a waste in my opinion. Sure it's for some. But I believe that the 64 gb will allow for growth. Needs change. Maybe she will enjoy the 4K video recording with your kids. Who knows. I'd recommend going with the 64 gb

Well that's the theory and/or rationalization anyways. Another one is it pushes people to spend $100 more for the 64gb model more-so than if the low-end was 32gb thus increasing profit for Apple. Whatever the case may be, it should not exist IMO...

From the scenario that you gave, it sounds like the question is do you value money over time or vice versa? If you value money over time (not having to spend the additional $100), get the 16GB. If you value time over money (not having to transfer files every week), get the 64GB.

I feel like anyone consider an iPhone purchase should pretend the 16GB doesn't exist. It's terrible. My wife has a 16GB 5C and it's ALWAYS full. I try to manage it for her, but the 12 available gigs goes very fast. I can't even imagine how excruciating it would be with 240fps slow mo and 4k video on board.

Just look past that 16 and grab the 64.

Is $99 worth it to NEVER have to spend a single second wondering if your phone storage is full? Heck yeah.

$100 more for 64gb is the way to go; unless she doesn't want to record nice 4K videos or Live Photos but then, that defeats the purpose of her switch almost, right? She doesn't take pics on her old phone but I know on this phone, she'll enjoy it very much! The kids will too once they see a live photo. Lol

I don't know why in the world Apple would still come out with a 16GB iPhone. It makes no sense. Only thing I could think of is it's a way of getting that extra $100.00 out of its customers.

As my friend told me when I told her I was going to buy the new 6s:

"16gb is a waste of money, and 128gb is a waste of money"

I'll let that thought grow on you so you get the answer. 64gb is the best since you're not paying too much in general or paying too much for too little memory.

Never go for a 16 GB if you do not want to get "Not Enough Storage" message. 6s should really start from 64 GB.
ill defend anyone who goes for 16gb. i did for many number of years for my iphones. this was first year i ever had device over 16gb. if they start 64 gb they just raise prices up which is not cool for people who want iphone but can only afford 16gb. if they kept price same then i be all for it but you know they wouldnt.

64GB. There really is no excuse now to keep 16GB as the lowest tier especially with 4K video and live photos. Come on, Apple.

I had a iPhone 4 16gb and it was barely OK when it came out which was what four years ago now? With apps becoming bigger, taking bigger better photos/ videos, bigger size OS, HD video content like movies and etc you're going to find more reasons to fill it up. Live photos will eat your space up if you like taking them
