What I did was that I have all my mail forwarding to iCloud and everything that was in my Gmail I brought it over to the stock mail app. Simple process. Instead of me using a third party app for Gmail push notifications I just did it that way.

Used Bluemail on my Nexus 6P and it was great, think I'll give it a whirl now that I'm back to iOS to stay. It was so good I never figured out why it was freee.

I've searched high and low for mail app alternatives and just recently discovered one that may just end up being my permanent replacement. It's similar to the stock Mail app but it has some additional functionality that I've been looking for and supports Gmail push notifications.

I was using Email for a while until Spark came out with their Mac client, which offers syncing between devices (settings, accounts, etc.) which is quite nice!
