Hi, just joined the Apple community so please forgive me for my lack of knowledge. Came here to seek guidance from all the users here. So, I just got a brand new iPhone 6s Plus, which is my very first Apple device. So I want to ask whether the iPhone 6s plus's physical buttons are really prone to being damaged. Thank you for your time.

If you drop it, it might damage the buttons making them not function properly. But that rarely happens.

    If we press it regularly?

I wouldn't be too worried about it. I've been using iPhones for six years and have never had an issue.

No, they are meant to withstand a LOT of usage

I don't have details but like any product with mechanical parts, it's tested to withstand use that it likely will not endure during its typical lifespan. On top of that, apple has great customer service so if you do find yourself experiencing hardware issues during the warranty period a trip to your local apple store should get you squared away. Shoot, you're likely to get help of some sort even if you're outside of the warranty period.

That has been my experience anyway!

Hi, welcome to iMore. Enjoy your stay here.

I have to agree with above. I've had iPhones for 7 years and none of them showed any damage or malfunction after severely usage.

Don't worry too much and enjoy your phone.

I have not had an issue my my 6s Plus button. The last time I had a home button issue was an iPhone 5 and I took it too the Apple Store, they replaced the screen, which included the home button, and I was good after that.
