Has anyone had an issue in which TouchID is not accepting your fingerprint?

Sometimes the Touch ID don't work because, in my case, my fingers are often oily or dirty!
So that I always clean the Touch ID and my finger when I want to unlock my phone!

Me too, even works well with my LifeProof Fre, as long as not too much dirt or oil then it won't work anyway.

I have the most trouble with my left thumb. Happens on my 6S+ and happened on my 6+ as well. I don't remember if my 5S had the same problem or not. It will work for a while when I enter it new but then it pretty much doesn't work after a couple days again. My hands get really dry and cracked so I wonder if that's a problem. Oh well, it's not my primary TouchID finger.

Today there has been a few times when I've gone to unlock the phone and it asks me for the unlock code and not taking my fingerprint. After I unlock with the code I can then use the fingerprint, like you have to do after turning the phone completely off but the thing is I haven't turned my phone off at all today. Has anyone else had this problem and do you think I need to do a factory reset? I've only had the phone ten days and haven't had any problems until today.

I teach a class for new iPhone users and I often hear people complain that it doesn't work. Usually we add a new fingerprint and it works fine.

Hate it when it doesn't work when there's oil or dirt

Make sure your home button is clean from oil.
