When I download an app through the app store on my iPhone they also download to my iPad. How do I stop them from downloading to all my devices?

Go to Settings > iTunes & App Store, and then toggle OFF Apps under Automatic Downloads.

I wish that having this on would make putting an app that is on my iPad 4 onto my iPad Pro. The app is not available in the app store anymore.
