    Lately I've had several texts which should be going thru as iMessages not go thru. It isn't a weak cell signal either. Is some setting messed up?

    Regular text iMessage or photos? I sometimes have issues with photos, but not texts. Try Reset Network Settings. That helps sometimes.
    Reset Network Settings Settings>General>Reset>Tap Reset Network Settings. You may need to enter your wifi passcode back in afterwards.

    You won't lose anything.

    And maybe the recipient had no data or wifi connection at that time.

    Yeah I have no idea why this happens. It's only every so often and sometimes the other person was on the phone they tell me.
