my iPhone 6 won't charge. I get the battery and cord symbol.

When this happened a few months ago there was lint in the port and when I cleaned it out with a paper clip, it charged fine. However, this time after I cleaned it out and even used a bit of rubbing alcohol on the tip of the paper clip, it didn't work. I tried rebooting by pushing both the home and start buttons at the same time - and that didn't work?

Please help!

Make a Genius Bar appointment with the nearest Apple Store to have them diagnose the problem for you.

Its possible you shorted out the device. You used a piece of metal and inside the charging port are metal contacts. So metal on metal is not good.
