where is the search mode for iPhone 6

i am attempting to connect my new iPhone 6 to my car "blue tooth". Instructions are to ensure iPhone is in "search" mode. Where do I find that on my iPhone? Settings does not seem to be successful.

Just go to settings and turn on Bluetooth. It will automatically go into search mode.
