My camera icon is not active, how do I add photos to a text message?

camera icon is not active how to add photos to a text message

I tired to add pictures to text messages, however camera icon is there but faded cannot push on it. Also once I tried by sharing picture option in the pictures app there is no text message option. It is iphone 6 with ios 9. Please help, Thanks.

First as far on having your text app open and not being able to send photos, Check in settings to make sure you have allowed messages to access photo app snd if not allow it to do so. On the other side from the camera roll and selecting a photo, Then bottom left select the box with up arrow there will be green menage app - first one and if not there scroll the set of icons to the right as you might have it too far to the left and that will show it.

Messsges does not need permission to access photos. Is the camera icon unresponsive? If so, try a hard reset.
Hold the top power/sleep button and the home button at the same time until the Apple logo appears, then release.
