Security Passcode with Apple pay

I am trying to put a passcode on my apple passbook for Apple pay, but it puts a lock on my phone when I unlock it. I have went in setting and only marked Apple pay and turned off iPhone unlock, yet it still wants a code when unlocking my phone.

If you have an iPhone 5S or newer, your fingerprint can be your security feature for Pay. Locking the phone is the only other way to protect your Pay feature other than via fingerprint....I think.

I'm sorry, but I'm a little slow this morning and am obviously missing something. You do not have to initiate a lock screen passcode in order to use the Passbook app. Having said that, there is no way to individually lock apps like Passbook or Pay within the Passbook app. The only way to secure it is to passcode protect the device as a whole via the lockscreen.
