IPhone 6 5ghz wifi dropping

Not sure how to fix it. The connection upstairs works fine maybe because it's close to the wifi router but the connection downstairs is very weak. The Mac works perfectly downstairs and it doesn't loose strength so it's definitely a problem with the iPhone.

Switch off 5 and use 2,4 , on your wifi hub ,you will get a better range and stop most of your wifi faults on a iPhone 5s

It thought 5ghz is supposed to give better range. How come on the Mac when it's connected to 2.4 the speed is lower than on the 5ghz. So if I set the iPhone to 2.4 I will not get the higher Internet speed.

5 is faster than 2,4 , 5 range is very poor , 2,4 is more reliable and has a better range and does not suffer as bad from from interference or obstructions like building walls etc
