Sometimes this happens. This normal where the whole thing moves down some like this? I got my phone on May 17th.

Looks like the Reacability feature is activating... Try a double tap on the home button... A tap is not enough pressure to actually press the button... Or swipe back an forth over the home button when it happens and see if it clears up.

It doesn't stay stuck like that which is good and it doesn't do it all the time. It's just random thing it does.

If you double touch the home button, it does that. Like Keith said, it's a feature called "reachability".

It's not just the iMessages app - it's any app/screen, including the home screen itself.
