I've dropped my iPhone 6 for several times since I bought it only 3 weeks ago! I came here to complain about the phone being too big for one hand using. And fortunately some nice friends here offered their solutions. I would like to list them here.

    1. An easy to grip case
    2. A bumper, technically still a case but may look more natural?
Both the solutions are to add more friction between your hands and phone to decrease the slipping and dropping probability. But the problem is a lot of people would rather risk dropping their naked phones than dress them up with ugly clothes". These users are obsessed with the natural appearance and the original touch experience. Im unfortunately one of them. So I did some deep research for better solutions and heres what I found really interesting:

    3. A thumb extender. LOL

This stuff is more like a joke. Even though the Japanese girl is cute I wont buy a plastic thumb. LOL. Anyway it makes me realize most of the times when I drop my phone, I was actually stretching my finger or adjusting my grip to touch some place far away on the screen. (Reachability is a good solution but still not that convenient and I just keep forgetting this new function) Its the improper way we cooperate with iPhone that increases the risk of dropping. In this context, I found a cool invention in solution 4.

    4. A Halo Backthe smart screen protector.

Its a total new product on Kickstarter that adds an invisible smart back button on the screen protector. Im sure Halo Back wont solve all these finger-stretching problems but it does solve the back problem in the right way. Swiping from left end to right can also go back but I cant balance my phone in my hand every time I swipe. An easy tap on Halo Back would be much more convenient and also safer. Its a cool stuff for me and I just backed it as an early bird!

    5. A Bunker Ring-the "ring" to hold the phone.

The ring" attaches to the rear of your iPhone 6 or 6 Plus and slips through your finger when you're holding iphone. Seems cool and innovative. But Im afraid itll hurt users finger after long-time use, not to mention it could even cause unexpected danger. I personally dont recommend long-term use but its worth a try! Im looking into the ways to get it.

    6. A big change of ios.

Apples good at creating new things. As Im not the only one complaining about the user experience here and there, Apple could probably consider making an operation system with big changes for bigger phones. Im looking forward to that!

So what do you guys think about all these solutions? Its really interesting to share my opinions here and Im still waiting for some better ones from you! Above all, I hope it could last longer before I drop my 6 again. LOL.

I'll just stick to my life proof case. Works great for me since I'm out on the flight line a lot. It's protected from the weather that way. And it's not bulky.

Thanks. Just checked some answers and suggestions from my threads. It seems you all have a favourite brand of screen protector. Guess I need to study about some of them.

Apple did implement the double tap home button to bring the screen down to allow users to reach the top of the screen one handed. Granted, it's going to take two extra taps over the halo back screen protector...but it is there if wanted.

Or just go with the 6.

Thank you for your advice! Yes the double tap is called Reachability. But it's just like the Assistive Touch which I never use.
Comparing Halo Back to the complicated Reachability, I choose to try Halo Back as it would be as convenient as Home button.

Yes thank you for your kind remind.
"AppleCare+ for iPhone extends your coverage to two years from the original purchase date of your iPhone1 and adds up to two incidents of accidental damage coverage, each subject to a $79 service fee plus applicable tax." And the insurance thing itself costs $90, not a small amount exactly, but anyway it's a good solution for the naked phones!
