How is it that the new Samsung s6 is able to put in a significantly larger battery inside of it (2500 mAh) while also being just slightly thinner than the iPhone 6?๐Ÿ˜‘ I think Apple is holding back when it comes to battery size/capacity.

So why do you think Apple is "holding back"?

Does a higher capacity battery translate to height and width or thickness? I don't know I'm asking.

Might be thinner but is it smaller? Bigger phone, bigger battery. Don't really have to be thicker to get a bigger battery in it.

I don't know, and personally, it's not a concern. As for Apple holding back when it comes to battery size/capacity, maybe, maybe not. I won't lose any sleep over it, either way. Know what I mean?...

The S6 is thicker than the iPhone, which is how it is able to hold the bigger battery. Apple is trying to appease their customers and go for a thinner phone with a bigger screen.

    5.44 x 2.64 x 0.27 inches (138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm) - Iphone 6
    5.65 x 2.78 x 0.27 inches (143.4 x 70.5 x 6.8 mm) - Galaxy S6

The S6 is probably "Thinner" because it was slightly bigger. The S6 also has a higher display which is probably gonna eat away that battery life, not by much, but it'll still use more power compared to a lower display.
That picture says differently on the size though

it's ridiculous, isn't it. anyway, going by the photos the S6 is evidently thicker, I did know that Samsung fancies a bit of benchmark test shenanigans, however I am surprised they now carry that over to something as mundane as their device dimensions.
