Does anyone know how much the monthly payments will be for the 64GB iPhone 6 model?
There's no information available yet on AT&T website.
I realize there are the 12 and 18 months options.

Also, is it possible to purchase the phone afterwards if you change your mind?

I don't know why Apple is not making a 32GB model this year. That's all the storage I need !!

    Thanks for your comments.

Take the price of the phone (without tax) and divide by 20 or 24. That's your monthly price. And you can pay off the entire balance whenever you want.

Scorpiodsu's answer is correct re: the Next plan. Pick a phone, pick a price point and divide by 20 or 24 depending on your option. Think of it as "interest free financing". The down payment will be the amount of tax, based on the full purchase price.

With regard to the lack of a 32GB phone, what’s the issue? Spend what you were going to spend for the 32GB phone and get a 64GB device. Apple just GAVE you an extra 32GB. I don’t see a problem.

The problem is why didn't Apple just drop the 16GB. It's a subtle attack on users claiming to have the entry iPhone starting at 32GB. I'm sure if we all poll Apple users, the sweet spot is 32GB. So, instead of dropping the 16GB.. they drop the 32GB instead and replacing it with the 64GB.

It's an argument for those that don't need a 64GB iPhone.. and is perfectly fine with a 32GB.

Since I tend to buy a new phone every year and I pay OFF Contract prices, I would think the 32GB version would cost about $100 cheaper than the 64GB model. This year I may go with the Next Plan. I heard the 64GB model will cost $750. Last year my 5S 32GB cost me $650.

I hear you but thinking they would drop what is probably their best selling version of the device and give extra space for the same price and lowering margins probably doesn't make good business sense. If they will sell the same amount of 16gb as they would 32gb for the same price then all they are ds loring margins. They probably did some analysis to determine what makes sense for the 32gb model. They don't just make decisions like this on a whim. Again I understand your perspective from a buyer but at the end of the day they are a business.

Because not everyone will have $700 to spend in one shot. But can probably sacrifice starbucks coffee several times a month to make the payments.

I know some who will participate in these programs... (a lot of my customers) who will then pay it off when their income tax check comes in.

Duvi, where do you get $700 from ? If you go with the most expensive iphone 6 plus you will have to pay $500 ( vs Next costing you $949 PLUS TAX calculated on the $949 ).

While I haven't use any of the payment plans, I'm on a contract with Verizon. The payment plans pros are that you have the option to pay your device off over time, and the option to pay it off faster. Why don't ppl go spend $40000 on a car? They will spend more than that if they make payments....

If you buy a $40000 vehicle and get TRUE 0% finance charge, you dont end up paying $75000 for it.
If a Phone is $499 (iphone 6 plus), when you switch it to Next, they dont divide your $499 over 24 months. They do the no-contract price over the 24 months, $949, plus sales tax on the higher amount.
only people that I could see this benefit is those who absolutely want no commitment, but still pay the price for it.

The Next plan can only begin to make sense if you are not on a subsidized rate plan. If you have a plan that allows for a subsidized phone, you are, in effect, paying double for the phone - the cost of AT&T's subsidy repayment PLUS the Next charges for the phone.

Okay I see your point. Does Verizon edge charge interest? I did the math: $32.49*20 =$649. So with Verizon edge you aren't paying any extra, unless of course there is interest.

A subtle attack? LMFAO! Are you kidding me? You have two different consumer bases focused on with this new storage option release...it's not an attack of any sort, not to mention the new 64GB option is the SAME PRICE as the old 32GB option on previous models.

I get a kick out of some of the comments about this...like Apple did this to screw you over or something, LOL!

Because it doesn't save you any money...you're essentially paying more for a phone that you don't really own (since you have to give it back the "NEXT" (lol) time you upgrade, and you're basically just paying a ridiculous lease rate to AT&T. It's kind of humorous honestly, reminds me of those payday loan places in terms of the ethics of the program (towards the consumer).

Not aware Next requires the phone back. You pay for it in full over 12, 18 or 20 installments.

If you upgrade to the next iPhone model next year, when you get the next model, you give your existing iPhone back to them. Read the details on the plan, it's spelled out pretty clearly. You're essentially RENTING the iPhone from AT&T.

Remember, Sean, we’re living in the Land of Promise, in the Age of Entitlement. Didn’t one of the presidents promise us a 64GB phone in every pocket?

NOBODY reads the fine print any more. Too much effort up front. And then you can’t cry "Hey, no fair" down the road when you get bit in the butt.

Oh wait...you're right. Obama promised us all iPhone's. WHERE'S MY GUBMENT iPHONE!?

All kidding aside, it's just sad to me that people are so much more willing to throw logic to the wind these days to try and find something to complain about. Here we have Apple offering a new device with more storage for the SAME PRICE as the previous model with less storage, and some how Apple is attacking...lol! What's next? Apple gives away iPads to people, and because they only give away the white and silver model, they are being racists?

Some days I just want to jettison myself to the moon to escape the idiocy.

It seriously is about entitlement. Since Apple did the "bonus" by bumping the MIDDLE device and the HIGH END device, why not the ENTRY LEVEL device? The short answer is: because Apple said so. And some see that as unfair. I am so over this stuff. Political correctness run amok.
