But the rumor is the 32 gb will be dropped, leaving the 16, 64, and 128gb models. We'll know in a week!

As long as the 64 stays as the second option, I'm fine with them keeping the 16 as the base model

    Aw, shucks, Maam.

But that is exactly what I do - a minimum of $50 every two weeks. If I get a little extra, it goes in there, too. I buy the gift cards every couple of months. Its worked out well for the past 3 upgrade cycles.

My only regret is that the Apple Store is the only place to buy them. The grocery stores here sell lots of "store" cards, but they only carry iTunes cards for anything remotely related to Apple. It would be more convenient, for sure. The problem with going to the Apple store with a wad of cash is that I find myself in an Apple store with a wad of cash.
You can get Apple Store gift cards via the Apple Store app. Of course you can't use cash there though.

I don't think Apple offers financing of any sort on anything.
In the UK you can spread the cost over 9 months, 12, 18, 24 and 36 also 48. The APR is 14.9%. Currently it's 0% APR if you choose 12 months but that stops on the 9th September. So that's no surprise.

Here is the finance pages offered in the UK. I'm surprised it's not available in most country's.
I hope it's still an option on new products to be released.

There are financing options in the United States as well...but they are not through Apple themselves, they are 3rd party financing companies that you could apply for regardless of what you are buying. Apple has nothing to do with it directly (at least not in the states anyways). Here is the website that offers financing on the Apple website...

The underwriters for Apple financing in the UK is Barclays Bank plc. I just hope it's an option on pre-order day.

I would be surprised if they don't drop the 16 GB and just have 32 GB to 128 GB. It is just a feeling.

That's going to increase the base price and I don't think I want that...

I think they'd keep it the same even if they bumped it to 32. When they bumped the base from 8 to 16 the price didn't increase, so I don't see why it would now.

It is more than $650 in other currencies I think. I heard of some guy in Brazil (I think) who had to pay about $1000 in US currency to get a 5s a month after the 5s came out. And this was directly from an Apple Store too!

That's what I was thinking. I was going to go with a 32 gig mobile. Now I am thinking 64 gig.

Same here. I was planning on a 32 because I thought Apple would keep the storage sizes the same, but now with all the rumors pointing toward a 64 GB model replacing the 32 at the same price point, I'm going to get that one

Finally, it was announced. It's for a two-year contract though. Does is it mean, I'll pay USD 4,776.00 in two years time?

I'm wondering this.... I have an iPhone 5s Gold 32gb and lets say I want to upgrade with Verizon through the Edge program, can I do that with my existing line even tho I'm not eligible for an upgrade yet? In other words, can I choose to upgrade my 5s using the Edge program & just pay the installments on my bill or do I actually have to be ELIGIBLE for an upgrade first? I hope I 'm saying this right LOL

I'd think a quick call to Verizon would clear up any questions.

If you're not even eligible for an upgrade for the EDGE program, then of course not.

Like finn said, just ask Verizon. They'll be able to answer your question better than us since they know the details of your account.
